Shift Shots 8/2/09

Mott Haven, The Bronx

These streets I find myself on are major conduits of the commuter between the south Bronx and Manhattan. These little bridges here are the toll free alternates to the RFK Bridge, and they can get really heavy congestion during the rush hours, but deep into the night, you can snap your fingers and hear the echo, the sound from a worn engine belt sends its moan further down the streets then the next traffic light.

TriBeCa

A pretty cool section of TriBeCa, even when TriBeCa itself is pretty small. But Washington Street just (Be)low (Ca)nal Street still has some older signs of New York City, still clinging to life, even when amongst the older buildings are brand new luxury apartment buildings not even one year old, just a few steps away.
