The update:
err, sort of. I had the cab and logged on with it on Saturday morning, but the fare was incomplete. go home try again yada yada. i don't normally do live tapings via #Periscope, but I put a tape out on that day to recite the problems and maybe take viewers on a small tour since I couldn't work with the cab anyway, so here's that tape: Live drive, story and tour

so hey, here's the thing. As a cabbie, when you're working you don't have much off time where you actually have the excess energy and the time to devote to composing a blog post online. but hey, i've had a lot of time off, so a lot of excess energy, and time.

what have I been doing with that time? I've been trying to get a better more comprehensive set of images to re-edit / replace my existing page of pictures of Taxicabs from 1899-2011...

Those were the old years though of course. I'll try to go back further than 1899, and also of course go all the way to the year 2016... yes!!! the future Conan!!

so much depth, so, so much depth, that it'll most probably have to be divided up into more posts..

so here's where I'm putting all those pictures, 124 images at the moment, building up the archive before i break it down again, and put it nicely into this blogsite.

History of New York City Taxicabs

Look, one thing though, these pictures are not my own, but be nice, if you want to post them online or wherever, you do what i did, site the sources, site the photographer, and if you straight up take like 8 or more pictures from that page, than site me as a source too, 'cause i as your one stop shopping experience deserve some notation.

to round out the cab quota, here's my other albums that fulfill the NYC Taxi images of all kinds up until today. These are my pictures, so do not steal my images.. if you make zero profit from them you can publish them as long as you credit me as the photographer, and please for the benefit of accuracy, please please get your info correct.. but yeah, if your putting it in some magazine or something, you buy now, or i'll get Kuby on the phone.

You can find me on twitter: https://twitter.com/nyctaxiphoto

On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NYC-taxi-photo-43428885139/?ref=hl

or Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/copyright_noah_forman/

I still want to keep posting pics and writing stories. The latter, much harder. But year after year, I've found one reason or another, not to devote appropriate time here. I'm not saying this site is finished, but it's been quite some time. And this time like so many times before, I could write, or devote hours and hours to getting pictures together, but then i'd be taking time away to preperation for a job, or taxes, or family time / friend time.

twitter, Facebook, and instagram take the pressure off, and allow me to just plop down whatever is on the phone or in my head. But blogger has just been to much of a time consuming proposition. One pretty much has to be retired to make it work. the catch is that memories are sometimes only fresh for a few hours, or a day. but to write some stories would psyche myself out and prevent me from going to work the next day.

I also got a little frustrated with holding on to such a simple shallow identity of just being a taxi driver, or being the taxi driver that everybody might imagine. I thoroughly enjoy being that guy, but only if it can lead to further awareness of all our surroundings. err, that probably sounded too wishy washy egocentricish, maybe i didn't not so much, but it was one of the factors making it harder for me to write. Especially when right from the beginning, I always found that my stories before even becoming a taxi driver, were far more interesting for the most part. Think of it as a numbers game, when you are outside all day, will you see more rain, will you see more stormy weather? Yes you will, but you will also see everything else, and when you see so much, it all becomes rather mundane.

i'll try to keep my eyes open to see the interesting side of things, I'll try to look for visual word picture type things to write about in the future. But I'm thinking right now I may have more viewers on Facebook, so I might just write the occasional entry, VERY OCCASIONAL, over on my Facebook page of the same name. Instagram is more of a very crude rough draft for pictures i'll take with my iPhone. and I still want to send the best pictures over to this site, where i can keep them organized so that I know what I've got tangibly.

so that's pretty much all, in summary, I aim to get the photo albums updated in due time (4-12 months) and keep them annually updated. while for more regular quick updates, you can find me @ twitter, instagram, and Facebook.

Long time no type, sorry folks, tax time rolls around and I have to get all my records in order..

That was oh what now, 2 years? 3 years ago?

soon enough, it was one thing after another, if it wasn't taxes it was tickets, which puts me into a frantic state of paying lawyers and checking my record, then doing the math to see if I will still make it without a suspended license...

That all has come and gone, and now come again, but my schedule had it's ups and downs from when i was last writing here on a somewhat regular basis, I was then working 4 days a week pretty much..

There is so much to explain between then and now,

Basically it is like the equivalent of checking in on me when I'm a distressed teenager in junior year of high school, and then the next time a child in that state would have time to touch base would be when they've just been accepted into a masters program or a Phd, I equate it to that.

Lets start from the beginning:

So much has happened. 9 years ago I started driving and at the time I was doing weekends, just day shifts, always day shifts. I was in college in Boston, which was hard enough, because it was a city, but it wasn't my city, everybody was calling it a city, but the only parts of it that had a soul were Cambridge and Alston, and Sumervile, but Boston proper was a mockery of the term city. Add to this that college didn't seem to show any obvious solutions to the job market that lay ahead of me. I was working on a BFA in photography, and only one person would get an internship working with a magazine. I took a class on editorial work, and it most definitely showed itself from day one to not match my personality or my skills, or my preferences and values at all. Creating a photograph was not my thing, I was teaching myself to work with what I had, to grab what was already there and to show reality as best as I could. If a photograph would transcribe itself as a dream that would be just peachy, but I wasn't going to ever input ingredients like light boxes, strobes, red dresses, make-up, all that junk.. into my pictures.

The idea that the field of photography demanded professionals who could work with all these ingredients and under all circumstances, tell the models, and the contractors that they know exactly what they're doing, sounded to me like professional lying, and I needed to get to my plan B immediately.

The Taxi Plan:

My circle of friends from New York was strong, all solidified mostly by a friend of mine whom I've known since Kindergarten. A friend of his who I knew as well through junior high school was working with his own cab. He owned the taxicab, and leased the medallion, and shared it with his best friend who also was a big piece of our New York City gang. It was told to me through that friend and through others that they would make $200 per night!! So I was like where do I sign up? Oh yeah there was a 3rd driver too, they all knew each other and got all tangled up in this New York friend triangle, more on this later.

So I went through the whole process of getting my taxi license, which i think ran about $500, transfering my drivers license to a chauffer's License, getting a doctor's check up, signing a sheet proving I wasn't a dead-beat dad (pretty easy as I'm not a dad), taking a class for a week, and barely passing a test that proves I know my way around the city, and have basic understanding of English, and finally passing a drug test.

Then I called up the third guy which at that point had become the only guy. They were a ragtag trio. Guy number one i think had his license expire, I'm not sure if it was because he failed the annual drug test. Guy number two had his license suspended and figured there were better things to do anyway. I believe he may have gotten a speeding ticket in the underpass on first avenue by the United Nations and it put him over the edge for points on the license. But guy number 3, who's dad was a member of the police benevolent association, never got a ticket, EVER. Also what else what else, Guy number one's sister got knocked up by guy number two, and also, also, they both shared an apartment, a tiny apartment, in the east village, and everybody knew everybody, so that must've been a trying time, or not, we all love each other now, sort of, i mean those two got married and moved to Portland, but are now divorced, guy number one moved to Europe for a time and also got married, but they're back in Brooklyn... my my my how the years go by, and everybody is a fricken adult with children, and they all wistfully tell me that they wish they could drive a cab again. umm how? why? whatever

anyway where was I? oh yes so I called guy #3 and eventually got through to him when he wasn't sleeping over at a friends house, or partying all night long, or smoking tons of pot, I figured, he had a cab, oh that's right, at the point I got through to him I had already signed up with a garage,, you know, because I don't wait for no one! hah! but he was then the owner of the cab because i mentioned previously kid number one and two lost their licenses, and kid number 3 seemed to be a natural. well he asked me how good I was or something along those lines... which As I wrote earlier in this piece, I despise greatly, because I'm brutally honest about things, and anyone who's honest with themselves should realize how badly they do stuff.

So yeah I told him that I once fell asleep behind the wheel in Maine, and I did have a few bumps with my personal vehicle, but I didn't see how that same stuff would happen in New York with my career.. this may have scared him, and he didn't get back to me about assigning me to his cab.. The amazing thing was it was just him with his cab. There were no other drivers. That cab in those last few years was a rickety lucky thing, and in the coming months it would get to a state where the alternator failed so he would park it at the club, or our house at Staten Island and leave it running, HE WOULDN'T TURN THE CAR OFF EVER!! and he would go to the roof light, unscrew the light bulbs, and turn off the headlights, so nobody would know. One time I was told he was pulled over on the Verrazanno Narrows Bridge for speeding, and the cop saw his PBA badge and let him off the hook.

I do firmly believe that all you need to do to be ticket free in the city is have a connection to the Police Department, or any of those departments, Fire, Sanitation, Corrections, maybe Judges, senators, district attorneys, and the like, would also get off the hook from tickets. How do you get tickets all the time?? well you only have to drive a yellow cab, and make sure to leave the roof light on all the time, and work constantly, don't refuse any ride, and you will get a ticket, the more you drive, the more you get tickets. Tickets are never issued for driving past a potential customer, but time and time again, somebody raises a hand, and it's the pullover for acquiring the potential fare and doing one's service to the city that pisses off the cops, especially if they're right behind you. It is understood that trash trucks need to stop to pick up the trash, and busses have to get their passengers... and yet the general consensus is "why won't taxicabs get out of my way?!" Can't they see I have nothing important to do!!?"

Anyway, I digress I digress, where was I? Oh yeah, so I never got assigned to the cab of my circle of friends which was just as well I guess, or so I told myself. That cab was at the end of it's life, though it is still alive with it's partition and stickers in Northern California now, Guy number 3 got an offer to move out there and try his hand at farming or something, you know, farming or something like that. Sorry to blow up your spot if you're reading this, yeah well he really likes potatoes or something, so he grows them out in the California sun I think.

The most amazing thing I never understood is that he drove that cab like it was always a holiday. His friends would call him up and he'd drop everything and drive them home, he'd also stop driving routinely and then go to a club with the gang.. I... I could never do such a thing. Firstly, I was driving the day shift, and secondly, it would take me the first 6 hours of my 12 hour lease to get enough money to pay my daily lease, then the next 4 hours would go in my pocket, so partying and hanging with friends was always out of the question. Even when everyone was having a party on my off day, I couldn't possibly hang, because I had to stay on a schedule to get to a Queens garage and pick up the cab at 4am.

The Career:

So in due time all three of my friends were no longer driving taxicabs and they were free to smoke their trees and also in some cases put out smoking trees (one of them does some volunteer firefighting, when he isn't driving an ambulance now)

I should mention that many people see my youthful face, and it's pink pigment and they react "Wow, are you an American?" then they feel ashamed and embarassed, "I mean, umm, you're like white, are you an American born cab driver?"

Yes I tell them, and then I tell them the story I just told you, without so much details, that it was a friend of mine from high school, they all drove a cab, I explain without any harshness, that this is New York City, and we were all chums, no matter how our first and last names look. We all knew each other from an earlier stage of life. I told you of my friend who was the route of our big circle of friends, he has a charm of seeing the character and positive virtue in everybody, and I knew him at a time when we would learn to tie our shoes at lunch breaks. It's only as we get older that as a copping mechanism we get hung up on strange parameters, we grow up trying to put everything in it's place, and sometimes, different languages and skin tones get thrown into the mix and we find oursleves separating, we forget that once upon a time we all watched the same movies and learned to tie our shoelaces. guy #1 who first had the rickety cab the called Vicky (short for Ford Crown Victoria) I'll make up a name for him, let's say his name was Joe, his name was Joe Busch, okay, now this is how we knew him, but one time when he drove us around in his cab, with his sister by his side, I saw his Taxi License: and it read Johan Busimilleritiger... Okay, okay so I made the name up, but you get the idea?? I joke around and say that it is a taxi law, that once you start driving, your last name has to be at least 10 letters long, and have at least 3 syllables. These folks that were once our friends growing up, were now certified professionals LOL.

Right, right, so my career. I started with this garage in 2005.. hey you know what, this blog entry is already getting kind of lengthy, so maybe we'll stop there.. and I'll continue with an essay describing perhaps, my whole career from the beginning to where we are now.. Let us say.. this was the introduction, this is the juicy fluff of vicarious lives that surround my beginning.. See you soon guys.

I've begun to tweet, or just to listen as the world tweets at me. Anyway this is my 6th tweet, and I just saw an option to embed a tweet, so

There it is, A pic I took of one of the few brand new Nissan NV200 taxicabs. I'm hoping to eventually feed the twitter directly into this blog. I'd rather have it turn tweets into posts here, but i'm not sure if this can be done. I've seen a way to put it on my right bar, but that's messy and unnecessary.

So, that's where i'm at right now.

I'm not sure if I didn't have enough coffee or if I didn't have enough food, or most likely, both. Well here I am again waiting for my train, to get to my other train, to get home. I've bought another can of beans, it's just snuggling all cozy like in my pocket, I can't wait to get home and microwave it, and plop it in the remaining pita bread at my house. Yeah, I'm starving.

An odd pic for this blog I know, what you were expecting weegee?

So today was a little bit more interesting then yesterday. I stumbled on to spot where some major drag queen club night was happening or something along those lines, so I got maybe 4 rides out of that party, and it also encouraged me to look around midtown more as well, because the party was so big that there was a trickle down effect of after party scenes. I didn't find any luck with my cruising around midtown. Just as well, because it looked like it was getting around to the 'one drink too many' hours.

I'm too tired and hungry I'm gonna post this now and maybe get back to it later

Nice and toasty in here. I got my pita bread and my can of retried beans I bought at the 24 hour convenience store in bay ridge, and well my stop is here so, darn, I got to get off the toasty train and back to the platform to wait for my next train. A strange feeling it is to drop the taxi off at a parking spot , end of shift, a transition to a 45 minute commute, perhaps 1hr, from what would be a mere 15 minutes.

The cabbing has been pretty easy of late, not always much money, but it's all been predictable. My schedule now consists of 2nights a week and between one and two day shifts. I like the nights, but with less experience doing nights I feel like I'm not working them to their full potential. Perhaps I'll leave this post here, so that we keep it simple, and not get this piece bogged down with trivial facts. Hope to write up posts on a more regular basis now that I got blogger on the phone. I wonder if any body's still here. I got my second train now.. Oh yes only 20 minutes now 'till I'm home microwaving beans and watching last night's episodes of the daily show, Colbert report and at midnight, ahh life is satisfactory.

Shit I got so much to show you. Well let's start with recent stuff. I got a smart phone finally, and I dunno, I probly shot more then 500 pics with it already. There was one streak of time where I had to sub for one of the drivers I work with, for about 25 days straight, we're talking 3am to 5pm sometimes. I had one day off in that stretch and it came on short notice as my night driver said he had a dental emergency, and I had to work the double shift, so I went for another 8 or nine hours as a surprise on that day , anyway, complaints, complaints... Here are some pictures: oh darn this blogger app doesn't really let me dump the photo load I wanted. Shits one at a time? Bogus

Alright, Let's do this, here are some of my recent shots!! yeah that's right, I've been taking pictures this whole time, but the editing, posting process is more time consuming than anything else. So here we go, I've worried too much about losing my pictures in file madness when I edit them, I've also worried too much about which pictures should go on the blog, which one's are good enough, and which one's just don't belong because they weren't taken during my shift.

You know what, I shouldn't worry so much about the editing, I shouldn't worry so much about what goes where, the important thing is that they're up there, this is my blog, it's like my wall, and I should just throw it all up on the wall. well... not all of it, but most of it.. pictures I take on my off days, pictures of anything, if they're worth looking at, or talking about, might as well plop it on here.

okay here we are, bleh:

This idiot thought he saw a possible passenger one block down the road, so he pulls this completely asshole maneuver crossing his car in front of mine as we all have a red light, not only blocking my car, but also driving through the crosswalk, and also coasting through a steady red light. Oh and guess what? there was no customer. Idiot!! my car was empty too, but thankfully, I wasn't too anxious at the time about all of it. This is the kind of thing that stupid drivers do in August when it's sometimes hard to make a profit after driving for 12 hours, but this, this just the height of idiocy, this guy needs to get his license revoked for pulling stuff like this.. oh yeah, and also, this behavior slows down the entire flow of traffic, as the approaching wave of traffic coming in as the lights turn green all have to slow down to a stop to avoid hitting this guy. It is one thing if he made a mistake and he needs to make a right turn but turns out to be on the wrong side of the street, but this is intentional, this activity needs to be addressed. Thankfully there are less and less of these drivers now, because we are getting paid better, so we don't need to resort to these tactics:

This is the back alley of one of, if not the oldest buildings on Park Avenue north of 46th street. At the time this building was constructed, virtually nothing was here. This alleyway is a passageway back through time still attempting to function as an entrance for a horse and carriage, I'm guessing, but the building always keeps the alley closed now. They may take deliveries through here, but they'd just pull the trucks to the gate. There is no way a truck is fitting in there.

At the end of my shift driving through Brooklyn, despite a relatively small amount of traffic, I took the scenic route to get my cab back to its home to avoid the construction on the expressway. Better to look at some cool stuff than to fight with traffic in my last hours of the night.

The Green Cabs are here!! No, not environmentally green, but painted green rather than yellow. Our new green cabs are functioning basically just as our car services were functioning before, only now, it's perfectly legal. They are now allowed to pick up people in Harlem, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, even if they don't call in advance. We yellow cabs are also still allowed to pick up people all over the city too.

Times Square, I have taken a picture here, at the exact same spot, just a few years ago before the streets closed off. Times Square has changed a lot, I suppose it has always been changing, but lately at a more drastic rate:

Again I have a shot of this from one or two years prior. This corner hasn't changed much. In fact this corner has been used by movies or tv shows to re-live the 1920's. However still, drastic contrasts can be seen in night versus day.
Here up at Hunter College, again the difference of night and day are staggering:
An example of something that would be unheard of only one year ago. Under the Liquor sign, and painted ad on the wall, is a neighborhood couch cushion type coffee house with a worn column and brand new red paint and brand new windows. Hey, at least they kept the Liquor sign, hopefully they won't get rid of it:

J.F.K. Airport:
This is the landmark TWA Terminal. Not really an actual terminal, it is located inside the loop of the new Jet Blue Terminal. No public is allowed inside the building, or even close to the building. It just stands there being perfectly preserved, though I can't help thinking that an entire terminal around in kind of ruins the aesthetic functionality of it. I wonder if it will ever be opened as a museum.
Greenwood Cemetary, Sunset Park, Brooklyn:
I've heard many times, that at the top of the hill in Greenwood Cemetary is the most spectacular view in Brooklyn, but I've yet to go in.

This car was built to purpose for wheelchair customers, also built to purpose for taxicab use. But A, this car is too heavy, so it wastes too much gas and it isn't to much of a driver's car. It seems more like a drivers truck. But they listened to the industry and put all the old technology of the Ford Crown Vic in it, they just didn't have big money on their side. All the politicals across the world I figure were bought by Nissan, so Nissan is going to be our new taxicab, or our daft future.

Speaking of Crown Vics, this is what I'm talking about. Look at how hard to drive these are! this guy thought he parked the cab nice and even. He did park it level, however, the road dips on the sides to form gutters for rain flow to the sewers. anyway, I think it looks kind of cool that the huge tire is half on the sidewalk and half floating in mid air.

yup, here it is, this is the first genuine "Taxi of Tomorrow" that I've seen:
I'm not telling you where this is. it's actually a lot safer than it looks:

This is just more geekyness on my part. Not too many Ford Transit Connect yellow cabs in New York City that are retrofitted for wheelchairs. So I just need it for my records of every single type of yellow cab in New York City:
These 11 below below were taken on my days off. After that we're back on duty again below that, yes, this post is long, I'm making up for lost time, and also, I'm sick of just showing a few pictures. I need to use this internet space as my go to wall, so that I can look at stuff and edit it down later:

And we're back!

I shot this for the 1930's or 40's car on the right:

Very foggy day that day, the traffic was light though, so I took a few shots:

oops, spoke too soon, weekend construction, and traffic up ahead goes to 10 miles per hour average:

So we get some nice bridge views, traffic is very slow, but still rather peaceful:
My day off again, I saw this Masaratti, and had to shoot it. I once saw a Buick Grand National parked at the exact same spot a few years ago, good memories. That guy opened his hood and showed me the supercharger, turned the car on and revved the engine. Then he let me film as he drove off. This Maserati's owner however were nowhere to be found.
I'm drawn to this new building at Astor Place as it always reflects all the buildings around it so much, that you wind up looking at an alternate universe seemingly when you look at it. All of those windows you see, are not in the building, they are actually windows on the other building behind us.

long story short:

nyctaxiphoto.com

may soon return to

http://nyctaxiphoto.blogspot.com

IF none of these url's work, you can also visit me at my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/NYC-taxi-photo/43428885139?ref=hl

First off obligatory apologies for not keeping up with my blog, sorry everyone.

Anyway it appears that Google is making it very difficult, neigh, impossible to renew my annual domain name.

So I want to give you all a heads up, The blog will always continue, and I always have big plans for it. It's my journal, it's the way my entire career is supposed to translate into something beautiful.

If you always bookmark me as http://nyctaxiphoto.blogspot.com then you should always be able to reach my blog. And if all else fails, visit me @ https://www.facebook.com/pages/NYC-taxi-photo/43428885139?ref=hl

in truth I've been updating the Facebook page much more regularly.

In the future I may transfer the entire blog over to Wordpress, and purchase a new domain name. We can jokingly call this nyctaxiphoto version 2.0

Wish me luck, and visit me on Facebook. Death to Google!!

I was feeling rather guilty before I came to this accident. You see I thought I had planned the perfect morning route to avoid the worst traffic and get my customer from J.F.K. Airport to the Lower East Side in the morning rush hour. The idea is to try to get them there in under an hour, but it was coming up on an hour already and I was still in the middle of Brooklyn. When I saw this I was actually relieved. Something like this can't be predicted, but also, how the hell does this happen?? this is a major street in Brooklyn, but the fastest you can go is 30 miles per hour, and in morning traffic, the speed at the fastest is more like 20. Also the intersecting street doesn't cross through this one, it just meets up with it, so there is no reason why this pickup would have turned without being blind. I guess the truck turned into the on coming traffic, which brings us to the wagon, yada, yada, the truck pushed the wagon into the car, but how?? Why didn't the truck stop? why did the truck turn in the first place?

Every now and then I have a real idiot for a customer who doesn't understand why I don't drive faster and take more chances in traffic. Well I'm pretty much a veteran driver at this point, and you've seen with this picture an example of things that my eyes have seen, at any time of day, in any weather. And I know with the time I have to spend behind the wheel, my odds of an accident are increased ten fold, I have no excuse with my experience to drive like a dumb ass. I had such a customer this past Saturday, but let's not get into that.
around this time, I was getting tired more often and not making too much money. I rented the cab by the week with another driver. I did the days, he did the nights. So I had a lot of time at my hands when I waited at the airport. Time enough to lay down and notice the hodgepodge of so many electric wires down there. It's one of those things i guess where a normal car might have a cover to clean it up, but the garage we rented out of was more of a place that just made sure it worked on the bare essential level. every time we got new tires, and it was very often, they wouldn't really be new at all, and often they would be worse then the ones we already had. good riddance to that place.
Odd day, when I returned the cab to my night driver I saw this little bird walking along the sidewalk.
It was a chicken, just walking around as if this was common place.
It wasn't until a week or so later when I decided to walk all the way home from there, that I saw a Chinese poultry shop around the corner that sold live poultry. I guess this lucky chicken got away.

Stuyvesant Town, Manhattan

And wouldn't you know, I was walking around Manhattan about to have dinner with my dad, when I noticed a red tailed hawk under this parked van. If I remember correctly, he may have been chowing down on a rat, but he took a moment to stay still for a photo-op. These hawks are a big hit with each of the neighborhoods that they reside in. News came of their migration to the city about 10 years ago, along with news of wild turkeys as well. The Hawks have homes in the tree tops and windowsills of tall buildings in Stuyvesant Town, Tompkins Square Park, Washington Square Park, and Central Park. Each place shares the common thread, all are square park spaces several blocks large and surrounded by buildings that the hawks can perch on and view the landscape from and then swoop down and snatch their prey.
This was interesting, I turn around a corner and a classic fire truck is on the road. The driver behind the wheel appears to be a fireman. I don't know what the story is behind this truck. Many years ago (what feels like another lifetime in some ways) I took pictures for my first major college assignment of an establishment in a small town in Maine that restored fire trucks and wagons. They told me they did a project for the New York Fire Department once, so for all we know this is a full circle thing and I find myself taking pictures out the window of my taxicab 11 years later only to still be taking pictures of their fire truck yet again.
Seems like almost everyday I drive the cab I find a new vehicle purchased for taxi use. This is the first ever Toyota Avalon yellow cab in New York City. You can see the full album of mine where I've tried to supply a picture of each taxicab model still on the New York streets. This is kind of a big deal, because we don't know how soon it'll be until we are all forced to only purchase one vehicle for taxicab use. Right now there is an entire list of approved vehicles that we can own, but soon we will have to buy a Nissan NV200, a little scrappy european minivan with tiny wheels made for commercial grade use, a very cheaply made van without all the luxuries of a modern car.
